It all began in 1991, back when Alexander Avramoglou moved from Istanbul to Athens, arriving in Greece with past experience of ten years, working for Marti Shipping, as an agent and shipbroker. As soon as he arrived in Greece, it did not take long for the company to achieve a popular status among a large percentage of Turkish shipowners, regardless of ship tonnage or fleet.
After years of steady growth, the company was able to expand its services in the maritime industry, by operating its first vessel in 2002, M/V Meryem. The management of M/V Meryem was successful enough for the company to invest in a second vessel in 2007, M/V Anna M. Ten years later, in 2017, the company was able to make another investment in M/V Notre Dame, which was eventually sold in 2020 in order to recycle the fleet. During March of 2020 we decided to proceed to the investment of a third vessel, M/V Mary. Year 2021 found with many changes since we sold M/V Anna M for the sake of fleet renewal , her place took our new vessel M/V Anna. At the same time, the company still acts as agents and representatives of a respectable percentage of Turkish owners.
Avramar Shipping Agency was established as a shipping agency company in one of Europe’s most prestigious ports, Piraeus. Our traditional business model is based on providing high quality agency services in many ports of Greece. However, the company has also invested in providing services as bunker traders, dry cargo chartering and ship management.
